What can a child expect at The Patticake House?

When a child comes to Patticake House he/she will be provided a safe, neutral environment in which to discuss their abuse with a trained professional. After their interview is conducted, children can expect their physical and mental well-being to be our top priority. He/she will be provided with individual advocacy and support.

Forensic Interviews

Electronically recorded interviews of suspected child abuse victims conducted in a safe, child-friendly location. All forensic interviews conducted at The Patticake House are completed by professionally trained interviewers and are coordinated with the involved investigative agencies. Interviews are conducted at the request of law enforcement, Department of Family and Children Services, and/or the District Attorney’s Office when a child has made a disclosure of physical and/or sexual abuse, or there is reason to believe the child has suffered abuse based on medical evidence or behaviors. Additionally, children may be interviewed if they have been witness to violent crimes such as homicide, domestic violence, aggravated assault, and sexual/physical abuse of another child.

On-site mental health

The Patticake House provides on-site therapeutic services to assist in the healing from the trauma experienced. The Patticake House provides individual and group therapy sessions.

Off-site treatment options


The Patticake House also refers child abuse victims and non-offending family members to local mental health service providers to help the family as a whole overcome the trauma they have suffered.
